2000 Chevrolet Impala I like the fact that we paid $3000 for the car in 2015 and it is still (mostly) going strong. I do wish it was somewhat larger though as my partner's wheelchair takes up 2/3 of the back seat and our crutches take up most of the front passenger seat.

This has been an on going problem with the power steering unit in the 2000 impala, but this is the latest; on july 14 ,2010 I took the 2000 impala into the dealership because it was leaking fluid. Ask the service dept. Manager to fix it. He then diagnosed the car as oil sensor switch leakage.

Oct 23, 2000 · This problem only applies to 2000 Model year Impala/Montecarlo vehicles. TSB for "Rear cradle Shim Material Fix" issued on 10/23/2000, addresses the engine cradle clicks and other noises related to unintended movement of these rear support brackets. GM has discouraged dealers to attempt to rectify the welds with aftermarket welding procedures.

I too have had transmission problems with my 2000 Chevrolet Impala. I had to replace it in 2006 and here again I NEED another one with 100k+ miles. Same problems as previous complaints on here. I had a mechanic to look at it and was told my first gear is gone. I have always purchased chevrolet cars, from Corsica, Lumina and now Impala.
