Home-based medical transcription requires much discipline, as well as a work environment void of interruptions. It was immensely rewarding work. However, after having performed the same functions in hospital settings, I greatly missed an hourly wage. Voice recognition is the way of the future, and Accentus is far beyond many companies. The adjustment period is stressful with any new system (with any job) BUT the ramp-up pay benefit can be lucrative, providing you are a fast typist; and if you are not, maybe another career path should be considered.2/5(9)

They have fired the good people who actually cared about the MTs and hired overpaid henchmen to dish out the dirt to the MTs (who they know full well are being scammed) and then turn around and try to make the MTs feel like everything is their fault.

It is an awful place to work. Before Nuance bought out most of the transcription companies in the United States, there was good money to be made.
