Yes , besides myself at 60 years of age , a close friend of mine and a former employee of Acorn Stairlifts Inc. ,at 62 years of age ,was abruptly dismissed a couple of months before me, because he refused to travel 3 hours away from his home to an appointment.

I bought my stairlift directly from Acorn Stairlifts and it was installed by them about 8/16/12. One of the selling points mentioned by the sales man and in the dvd and in the owners guide is that the stairlift has 5 sensors and will detect objects on the stairs and stop.

When I was hesitant about the price Peter suggested a rep. call to assess Mums situation. I was then offered a discount if I proceeded fairly quickly.
