Jul 26, 2009 · How bad is the ATA (American Taekwondo Association)? I've seen quite a few people complaining about it online, so I've got to ask. How bad is it? What makes it so awful? I've only been affiliated with local associations and for the most part, those have been no better or worse than independent teachers I've studied with.

Jul 31, 2013 · The instructors are kind and keep classes fun for the kids. My son has ADHD and taekwondo has been an important part of developing his focus. The ATA (American Taekwondo Assoc) is an excellent family school and many parents take classes as well. I have made many great friends through Sokol's and love taking classes.5/5(1)

ATA Taekwondo to me (and most Taekwondo organizations I'm aware of) is very sport based and not completely set on "real self-defense'. We do Krav Maga in our schools for Self-Defense because Taekwondo as a whole doesn't do enough in my opinion.

Jul 17, 2010 · I'm still trying to get the contract cancellation I was promised by one of the owners of ATA Martial Arts in Anthem, Arizona. After not getting anywhere with the American Taekwondo Association (ATA) parent organization, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The ATA Martial Arts owners responded to the complaint on August 14th:

Songahm simply means "Pine Tree Temple". Songahm is important to put in this article because it describes the style of taekwondo taught by the ATA, and the ATA, along with its sister organizations (STF, WTTU, etc.), are the only organizations that teach in the Songahm style. So, everything about ATA defines Songahm taekwondo, and vice versa.
