Purchased ATK crate motor. ATK is disputing warranty repair and accused me of not changing oil I spent over $6k for a replacement motor and the labor to install it. The water pump failed and was replaced under warranty. Days later, the oil light came on.

Jun 20, 2012 · In early July, 2004, I ordered a rebuilt engine from a Quadratec catalogue, which they resell from ATK. It is a 2.5l, 4 cylinder engine for my 1989 Jeep Wrangler, # DA28, $1549 + $345 core. The new engine was delivered on 8 July 2004 and it was installed by the mechanics at 14th Street Shell Station in Atlanta, GA.

Apr 30, 2010 · Re: ATK engines any feedback? Here is your feedback on ATK engines; I used to sell remanufactured engines years ago, and in many cases you do get what you pay for. I would NOT recommend an ATK engine for ANY application. Many of them are assembled down south, and they are a pain in the *** if you need to file a labor claim when it fails.

Jun 21, 2009 · I have an ATK engine in my Jeep. I bought it because my engine blew up while i was driving home from college, and I had them tow it to a shop that could do the work. They gave me two options: 1-used engine with 90,000miles or 2- an ATK engine. The cost difference between to two options was about $1,000. I chose the ATK because of the warranty.

Jan 10, 2015 · ATK is top of the line stuff. Jasper is now too. When they get a engine or transmission, they do all the fixes and updates. I've been suprised to find they had updates that I had questions about already covered before I asked. They also have a performance build available.

I have a lifted jeep cherokee with the 4.0 with an atk engine. Over 120k miles and going strong. Did have to replace a broken valve spring at about 40k and the head gasket at 80k. There was nothing wrong with the gasket except it leaked oil out the puhrod side of the gasket. Didnt affect the engine perfrmance at all.
