Feb 12, 2010 · Late '90s Bayliner Capris represent great value for money on the face of it, but I've been warned away from them by everyone I've talked to (except the salesman at the boat yard :) but no-one can really tell me why. Are they rubbish, or are they just at the cheaper end of the spectrum and value for money due to high production numbers?

It was sitting at his place waiting for a warranty claim from Bayliner to come through on it. The hull was quite visibly cracked, along the keel over a 5 foot length.

Jan 12, 2002 · Re: What is the problem with Bayliner? Well, i've owned new and old. My 86 Capri was poorly biult, no doubt. I still loved it, but it was a crank em out as fast as you can biult boat! I now own a 94, which is the newer style, biult after the problems they had. I really just couldn't find another boat with all the features i wanted.

Their sales brochures began to address the ''stress'' question with text and pictures of how they test their products. I was impressed.
