On Amazon, a reviewer who goes into detail says the black fluoride filter of Berkey adds ‘alumina’ to the water. Berkey thinks alumina (whatever it is, they didn’t say) is fine, and it isn’t aluminum. I used to have a distiller.

It has two Berkey Black filters and the optional sight glass. We are just using the unit to filter municipal tap water so the filters aren't having to do much. The taste however is much improved as the tap water is not completely neutral in PH and has some minerals.
