When I considered replacing the B&S 650 engine for my 22 ton Huskee splitter, I contacted brandnewengines.com, hoping to find a Honda 190cc for it. I was informed that Briggs and Stratton does not recognize the 650 engine as theirs! The labels are clearly B&S so I’m wondering if this engine is a China knockoff with a B&D label.

Of all the Kohler repowers on this website I have yet to hear of any complaints. There have been some shortcomings of the kits that are sold as they are not always as "complete" as some would like, but the base engines seem to perform great. I love my 28hp Kohler in my 420. Going on 2 years now.
