I purchased a La Fonera router a few years ago, this means that as a non BT customer I have access to the global Fon wifi network, and its been almost faultless, the only downside is the odd disconnection, and the non working BT app ( need to be a BT customer for this ) however the native fon app works well.

Delete any saved BT Wifi, Wifi with FON, etc connections. Then rescan for the strongest one, and you may be lucky. Some wireless management software gets confused when there are a number of connections saved, with the same SSID, even though the BSSID (MAC Address) is different.

It will offer to opt you out (if your status is already "in") and vice versa. (Note that opting your hub "out" will also cancel your ability to use the "millions" of BT/FON hotspots) I think I need to contact BT over the ID issue. Jan 21, 2015 · I you have a BT wifi, then you will automatically be on the 'Fon' network. The idea is that your network is shared with other 'Fon' users, and you can do the same with other peoples. All you need to remember is your Fon password. Have a look at the Fon or Fonera website and yo will see how many hot spots there are.
