Sep 26, 2010 · I'm jumping in late with regard to freeway noise. Caltrans recently did a noise survey for the I-10 just east of Los Angeles (between 710 and 605 freeways). That section of freeway is 6 lanes in each direction and also has a single-tracked Metrolink train running down the center median. Most of the sites it monitored are behind 14 foot sound walls.
