We stayed four nights at this campground. It is not possible to select campsites when reserving and we discovered that the most desirable spots are being leases seasonally. The only complaint is the sound of the trains that pass by on the far side of the road. If the trains bother you, earplugs will be provided to muffle the noise for a good night's sleep.

Mar 27, 2014 · Our campground has been here since the late 1950s and you can not "sink" on the many years of gravel in place. We are inspected by the health department annually and do not have sewage just floating about in the campground. It's called MUD, ladies. We are 20+ inches above the average rainfall for Virginia and the campsites are wet.2/5(2)

Checked out site on Oct. 19, 2014. The easiest access is a four mile gravel road from State route 55/48 (WV), 55 (VA). The entrance is very close to the Virginia/West Virginia line and easy to miss. The site is still free and in decent condition. Very close to the Tuscora trail, which also serves as the state border in some areas of the forest.

Apr 10, 2014 · This campground is close to many trails which allows you to walk right off your lot and be right there in the wilderness. Restrooms and showers were nice and what is to be expected from a campground; warm water and lavatories, about all you need.
