Nov 03, 2008 · That's actually a pretty good point. I can edu-guess that Honda didn't want the headache of responding to complaints of E85's 25% mileage reduction. And Honda surely doesn't need the CAFE boost from E85. To wit, E85's value to the Big 3 is mostly in CAFE compliance.

Jan 29, 2014 · I don't know of any 'kit' for an E85 conversion in a ram, but you'd need custom tuning to account for the different AFR required, larger injectors for the fuel demand, check whether the fuel lines can even handle ethanol, and then also ask yourself if it's worth the drop in fuel economy.

Apr 02, 2008 · E-85 is NOT being pushed because the world is running out of oil, it is being pushed because we want to be able to create our own fuel and reduce foreign dependance. Our beloved 93 octane will be avaliable for a long time and until we are literally forced to run E-85, I would not recommend the costly conversion.

Jul 25, 2013 · Although the Web is rife with complaints from car owners who say ethanol damaged their engines, ethanol producers and automakers say it's safe to use in cars. But smaller engines the two-cycle utility engines in lawnmowers, chain saws and outboard boat motors are another story.

Here are some ethanol related complaints I have found, and their respective pro-E85 rebuttal (not my opinion or educated stance on the matter, just regurgation of my research). -100% ethanol will dry out rubber and damage cork gaskets. +E85's 15% gasoline seems to keep rubber lubricated, although will still damage cork gaskets.

Feb 24, 2012 · some more info I have tuned a bunch of them on pump and e85 and havent had any issues with them that arent present on other injectors. Any big injector (1000cc+ sidefeed or 12000+ topfeed) are going to suck on pump gas.
