Oil companies take these matters very seriously. If the gasoilne was supplied by a local chevron marketer Chevron will contact them to investigate the matter. Or if Chevron direct Chevron will investigate. Do not be suprised if it was not bad gas 999 times out of 1, 000. It is not bad gas just bad timing on the purchase followed by the breakdown.

Aug 19, 2001 · Chevron's gas has techron in it and if it was bad for your oil, than everyone using Chevron gas would be having engine problems. It also doesn't say anything about changing the oil on the bottle the Techron comes in.

I have a 97 Grand Prix. I used Chevron in it exclusively (I'd drive on fumes to find a Chevron) until recently when the prices got to be $0.05+ higher then everyone else. I've never had problems related to the fuel. The question that started this makes me think, "Is Chevron gas, smart gas? Does it know it's in a GM so it acts differently?"
