The State of Connecticut, and I understand Maine, has sued Home Depot and Lowes for practices involving non-disclosure of payment practices. In November I got a Home Depot Credit card as I used to shop there alot. The charge for the item was $20.35. I paid the card in total in December. Home Depot claimed I paid late and charged me a late fee of $20.35 and $2 interest! Note, they do not return your check so you can not see when they cashed it.
