A further reminder was sent and the following day the refund from Digital River appeared in my bank balance. Sadly, only a minute later, an identical sum was withdrawn from my account. Digital River refused to give a refund until an investigation was complete. Which is frustrating but fine. I can confirm that the investigation began on or before the 12th of February as I received an email from UPS stating so and was completed on or before 26th of February as is shown by updates on the tracking page provided by UPS.

The upgrade they offered was an old er anti virus . The free one was an actual up to date version. It was a scam for the stupid Americans that bought it. Myself included in that. I will never purchase a Avast Anti Virus or any Digital River Software products and suggest that you do the same.
