When he came back, I saw the receipt and couldn't believe that they gave me 9.49 pesos to one US dollar. I checked online at the current exchange rate and it was 10.78 pesos to the dollar. I calculated how much money I lost in the transaction and it came out to be $134.00!!! Do not go to travelex.

At Sydney Airport I saw a Travelex currency exchange kiosk. I decided to change a small amount of money for my destination. The person told me they provide a flat fee commission of $8 if I exchange $500 or more. I agreed to do that. When I got to the destination I discovered that the exchange rate they used was 20% off the mid rate for the day.

Ordering process was easy and the currency was delivered on time. Exchange rate with Travelex is never the best but the convenience of having currency delivered at home right before a trip is nice. Oct 05, 2016 · Further more, you get ripped on the exchange rate. They dont have to charge a fee and list it if they take a commission from the exchange rate. Further more, Travelex charge per ATM withdrawal and per transaction. They also dont have to list this as they build it into the transaction amount (read the T&C's, thats where they have to list it).
