Sep 15, 2009 · Hello everyone. I'm considering either the Self Study Court Reporting Program with theory written by Mark Kislingbury or the Court Reporting and Captioning At-Home program. I favor the latter a little more because captioning is taught with this program, whereas it's not with Mark Kislingbury's program. However, Mark offers A LOT of teaching aids.

Jul 16, 2011 · If you want to do the bare minimum (for whatever reason), you could take Theory with a brick-and-mortar CR school or an online CR program such as CRAH (Court Reporting & Captioning From Home), then speed-build on your own at home all the way up to 225 WPM. There are LOTS of speed-building DVD's and programs you could purchase WITHOUT ever having to pay a tuition.

Most court reporting schools have a graduation rate lower than 8%. Most court reporting schools force students to take academics they don't need, just so the students will earn units and remain in good standing with financial aid (even though we all know the focus should be on the steno machine).

May 21, 2011 · I highly recommend Court Reporting at Home (CRAH) program. Why? First, I can't find one person who has anything negative to say about it. Second, I believe it to be the only NCRA approved program that is specifically developed for home study. Third, the entire program is only about $5,000, which is less than a single tuition payment at a vocational school.

I my posting Court Reporting at Home (CRAH) -- Lesson 10 and Beyond I had formed a modified CRAH theory and was going through the lessons again. I though to myself--what the hell am I doing. I really like the CRAH but realized it was a bit stroke intensive--I had a hard time breaking 60 WPM.

After reading online and making a few phone calls, I really like the Court Reporting at Home system. It is the only NCRA approved theory for distance learning. Cost is $5600, which includes a really nice machine. IMO, that is not a bad deal. When I called, they answered on ring three.
