Feb 02, 2009 · There is no recall on Dex-Cool antifreeze. The problems it causes is a result of the way it is marketed. It is marketed as an extended life antifreeze with 5 years/150,000 protection but the problem is that it's anti-corrosive additives break down and it becomes as corrosive as any other ethylene glycol base or propylene glycol base antifreeze.

Sep 09, 2008 · I've got a 2001 Buick Century with 34k miles, (it was my grandmas) and with what I know and have seen from the Dex-cool problems this thing is getting coolant changes every 25k miles, just as a precaution, but good point on the lack of dex-cool stuff in more recent models and years, glad to see GM has fixed or solved this issue.

This is the second flush/fill with it in both vehicles, and no problems yet (2+ years I think). Only problem I have with it is it is too light colored for me to see through my Maxima's plastic recovery tank.
