Sep 04, 2019 · Dog Ear Publishing does not perform as they advertise. I ghost wrote a book for my brother which we published through Dog Ear. Weeks after it was out, copies purchased and shipped to my brother, and the listing on Amazon, it was still showing as out of stock on Amazon. it is now approaching two months with the same situation.

Mar 21, 2019 · On March 7th, the US Better Business Bureau (BBB) posted an announcement stating that Dog Ear Publishing’s accreditation has been suspended due to failure to respond to complaints. Additionally, the BBB site now lists 29 complaints against Dog Ear Publishing, 20 of which were filed in the last 12 months.

One author sued Dog Ear and claims they never showed up for the hearing, leading to a default judgement in her favor. She delivered it to their office, and is now asking the court to compel their bank to pay her.

Jul 31, 2019 · Unlike the various Author Solutions imprints, Writer Beware never received any complaints about Dog Ear, which appears to have been reasonably trouble-free for most of its existence. Not so now. I first became aware of problems at Dog Ear in March of this year, via a Watchdog Report from the Alliance of Independent Authors' John Doppler.

It would seem Dog Ear Publishing has some unsatisfied authors. From what I have researched I find one of the main problems with Dog is they lack the communication with their authors after getting them to sign on. They also lack on informing the authors the details of their packages.
