Apr 08, 2018 · thesparkleman New Member Joined: Mar 13, 2008. I installed a "warm tiles" electric floor heat system under my ceramic tile. My problem is that the temperature will not exceed 72 F. It takes at least an hour if not more to heat to 72 and then will not heat beyond that. I have a programable thermostat with a floor sensor.

So it can take 12 hours to raise the temperature from 68.5F to 69.5F or whatever the dead zone of the thermostat actually is. In warm weather, I cannot make it run 18 hours because the heat loss is so much lower that the boiler will not modulate down far enough.

Dec 01, 2009 · What we do differently is set the temps on each floor differently. For instance, we might set one floor with a temp of 68 for active periods and 62 for inactive. The other floor may be set for 66 and 60. Our thermostats are 4 cycle units so we set a morning high temp that goes to the lower temp just before the last person leaves the house.

Apr 27, 2016 · I am using sinope in floor thermostat to control my in floor 220V heating wire. It’s integrated with ST with an API but also independent from ST which is a huge bonus as well since I don’t like safety devices control by ST. Just for monitoring. Or turn down the heat with away routine but not up.

Jun 18, 2014 · Room temperature will fall, and when sufficient heat is again available, the operator will be forced to open the valve quite wide. Without this constant circulation of adequately heated water, TRVs and their operators begin to resemble typical on-off thermostats and have less and less of their inherently proportional nature.

Aug 29, 2016 · (Note: HVAC thermostats are only 24 volts.) While there are line voltage thermostats that cost less, such as those used for a baseboard heater, they don’t have floor sensors and would require a 5 mA GFCI breaker, which makes the sensor more expensive in the end. Can a thermostat read air AND floor temperature?
