Another subtlety is that the standard Nuvi 50 and Nuvi 50LM only contain maps for the US "lower 49" states. There is a separate version with full US and Canada mapping, but you will probably need to look at the SKU to determine which you are getting. The 1450 and 2450 have the North America maps.
