Apr 25, 2012 · The campsites at Garner are what you would expect from a State Park and we had no complaints. Garner had far too many sites for me to offer any recommendations on what sites are best so I would recommend heading to the website and checking out a Park map. One of the most interesting things I noticed about Garner was the number of tent campers.

No complaints! Can you imagine? 2 hours in HOT HOT HOT parking lot and only tired eagerness even after driving 8 hours to get there to wait in the parking lot. Garner State Park usually has a resident herd of about 200 Axis at the most, half of which you'll see at any given time. They hole up in the heat and feed in the evening. Early morning will produce about half of the available Axis. Late evening is the best time with the best odds.
