I tried to contact Gate 1 for two weeks before hand. Two days before we left, having heard no confirmation from Gate 1 I booked different hotels. Day before we left Gate 1 left a message on my home phone that they needed me to call them back in a matter of hours to confirm that they had made changes.

A lot of these complaints seem to be about losing deposits or not getting money for cancellation - this is pretty standard in the industry I think. I don’t buy insurance with Gate 1, but I do make sure I have really good insurance with my credit card, personal travel insurance through a couple providers as well.2.8/5(178)

Gate 1 Travel is absolutely. Gate 1 Travel is absolutely, positively the worst travel company for customer service. I booked an independent tour to Paris earlier this summer for my 70th Birthday. When we arrived at our hotel, the room was extremely warm. After dinner, upon returning to the room, the inside temperature was over 90 degrees.

Gate 1 is a company that truly cares about their employees and gives back. Bonuses twice a year, merit raises and a holiday gift have been given since I started. This is not something many companies do and should be looked upon as a true gift and not something that is expected especially in the travel industry.4/5(65)
