Littlefilly15, I sincerely hope this goes well for you. I have never heard of $8,000 being paid to sell a timeshare. That being said, there are lots of different timeshares, in different price ranges, fractional ownerships, destination clubs, etc. so without knowing details it is hard to say what the deal is, other than that is a tremendous amount to pay.

The resort is a sold out timeshare, which does not buy back units. We have offered our timeshare to a few young families we know but everyone feels the maintenance fee is high, and of course, for Canadians, 35% higher than an American.
