Despite multiple recall issues with our 2010 Equinox, the new one seems flawless in its first 2000 miles and has the safety features we were looking for. Smooth, quiet ride, cargo area larger than the previous Equinox, continued generous legroom both front and back. Turbo engine gives good acceleration.

The service schedule in the manual indicates that the belts need to be checked for wear at 150,000. The timing chain should surely last longer than the belts. Chevy issued a customer service bulletin with regard to premature timing chain wear on all 2008 equinox's except the sport (which is what I have).

Nov 29, 2018 · Theses tire wore out to the point that they would not pass inspection after approx. 14K to 16K miles respectively. Unacceptable. My GM dealer informed me that Michelin recognized that there was a premature wear problem with these tires (you can read more poor reviews about these tires on Tire Rack and on Consumer Reports).
