Dec 29, 2015 · Often someone's "ham" radio is blamed, when in reality it is a radio of a completely different type, such as CB or business band. Many times people use amplifiers or non-authorized equipment for CB that far exceeds the rules.

The ham operator license is a privilege, not a right, and the FCC has canceled a number licenses in my area due to enforcement actions. Consumers do have a right to receive OTA TV broadcasts, telephone calls, wireless services and other communications without interference from a ham operator.

Oct 02, 2006 · i've only had a few complaints and those are typically when i operate 6m which is from 50-54MHz. channel 2 on the TV operates from 54-60MHz. channel 18 in the cable TV system uses 145.250-149.750MHz. the ham radio 2m band is from 144-148MHz and sometimes poorly grounded or compromised cable systems will get interference problems.

In this particular case, it's definitely the ISP's fault even if it's your neighbor's fault, because FCC regulations require their devices to be able to tolerate RF interference, so if the ham radio is interfering with it, the ISP isn't keeping up their end of things.
