Homeland health care is a joke!!! I am self employed, so when I was contacted by their agent and told I could obtain major medical insurance with no deductable and no copay for a mear $239.00 per month I was very interested.I don't recall the agents name but he was from Butler, Pa. or so he said.

The complaints against Homeland Healthcare are off the charts, any company with that many complaints is obviously involved in fraudulent practices. It is only a matter of time until the proper authorities shut Homeland Healthcare down for being quick buck scam artists.

Many of the complaints here are not valid. Firstly Homeland is the product and Markel Insurance is the insurance company underwriting the product. It is traded on the NY Stock Exchange under the symbol MKL. Secondly many of these complaints are about insurance agents or brokers who are either untrained or dishonest NOT Homeland.

April 17th, 2009, I call Homeland Healthcare again at 1 800 493 4240 and this time I am connected to a member services agent by the name of Mary, extension 408. She tells me that I need to submit proof that Homeland Healthcare took money from my account since neither my information nor my girlfriend's information was in the system anymore.

Some states may be able to force a shut down of an agency such as Homeland Healthcare. This agency has been shut down in some states.
