I tried to write this review on hostelworld, but they wouldn't let me use the word "STEAL" even though the hostel STOLE MY MONEY. I don't trust hostelworld reviews anymore, as they clearly don't let honest reviews be posted if they are bad. I also had proof of the form the hostel made me sign saying we had a problem and they reimbursed me.

I booked 3 nights at a hostel and cancelled the first. The hostel refunded my money but HostelWorld refused to refund the deposit for that night. I understood that the nonrefundable nature of the deposit applied if the entire reservation was cancelled, but that if one night was cancelled the deposit would apply to the other nights. Wrong.
