We will be filing with Profeco and also writting to the Canadian Consul in Maxatlan and the Ambassador in Mexico City. La Jolla really creates a bad feel for tourists in Mazatlan. We love the city and the people and hate that La Jolla sales staff ruins this.

Our family visited Mazatlan in Aug. 2011 and was "greeted" or rather held up by the people at the airport and got into agreement for a tour. The sales woman and her manager at La Jolla Resort convinced us that if we buy their timeshare package, they'd buy back our other vacation package for $21, 909 and we would pay them $10, 559 for the La Jolla timeshare.

Recently, my husband and I went to Mazatlan, Mexico and went to a timeshare presentation at Residence Club La Jolla and got misled into purchasing a timeshare. We purchased the timeshare on a Sunday , 2010 and we went to the Mexican Consumer Protection Agency, Profeco, on Tuesday, 2010 to cancel the order (under Mexican law we have a 5 day right of rescission).

Birdman, I have to disagree. It's because of Mr. Alaniz that we reached a settlement with La Jolla.If everyone who was scammed wrote to Mr. Alaniz, at the very least La Jolla would be kicked out of the Mazatlan Timeshare Association. The Association is something La Jolla needs.
