I've been using Lexmark ink since 2008 when I received a Lexmark printer/copier/scanner for free when I purchased a new laptop computer. The instructions for the printer recommend only authentic Lexmark ink be used and that's what I buy and use. I have no complaints. I buy the XL and get good use out of them.

A message came up on my computer saying that I should update the firmware for my Lexmark Prestige Pro805. After the update a message came up on the printer that it does not recognize the non-Lexmark ink cartridge. It also used a ridiculous amount of ink and replacement cartridges would not work unless they were Lexmark. Then they were very expensive. I just gave up and bought an HP Envy. It does everything the Lexmark promised to do but much more reliably at a fraction of the cost and has a superb ink replacement scheme at a extremely reasonable price.
