Jul 09, 2015 · I believe the MX13 (12.9 L) is a rejigged, emissionised and modernised version of the Pre-PACCAR DAF 11.6, which in it's turn was based on the Leyland O.680 (680 ci) from the late 50's which was modernised and in use through to the 80's So if you include the companies bought by PACCAR, PACCAR has actually been making engines for decades
