When the key is inserted into the ignition, a magnet on the cylinder creates a signal to the ECM (engine control module) that essentially says everything is ok to start and run.

The passlock issue would come and go, but when I moved from AZ to Iowa, the huge increase in humidity seemed to cause it major issues. And I had just started a new job in a new town and this would have surely cost me my new job had I not been able to get this module installed. I am so very pleased with this product and the company!

May 17, 2012 · How do I disable passlock once and for all?! Richard told me about "Bulletin 26" to "temporarily" bypass the passlock system - I've got a copy of it. It mentions interrupting the passlock data wire on the instrument harness, the catch is you've gotta get it started and THEN interrupt the wire (which I can't do, per above).

Oct 21, 2009 · Hmmm, 2 complaints in one year fron 2 cheap guys who would not follow directions. Interesting. I sell well over 100 of these bypasses (per week!) and very little if any call backs for refunds or for help. Seems the deciding factor here is the fact that 99% of these systems are in cars and trucks currently doing what they were installed to do.
