Portnoy's Complaint is a good book and holds up over time unlike some of its contemporaries. However, the narrator for this audiobook is TERRIBLE. He over-does everything and jumps from a barely audible whisper to a shout so often that one must stay very close to one's device in order not to either go deaf or miss what's being said.
