While I agree with your statement and call to action, as a former on-site sales rep for several builders (I am now a licensed REALTOR), builders I represented never REQUIRED a Buyer to use the builder’s in-house or preferred lender, but it WAS required to use that lender if the Buyer wanted to take advantage of any incentives the builder offered – a BIG carrot!
