This thread has had 234 views and apparently not a single one of those folks have felt the need to trade in, say, their XP 5wt for a Z-Axis 5wt. And it's not because you hear a lot of complaints about the Z.

I am selling a Sage VT2 9ft 9wt 4 piece fly rod with its case. This rod is in terrific shape and the only blemishes I can find are on the ferrules. The handle is a little dirty. Which is normal, but other than that the rod looks great. I only caught some largemouth with it and it ended up being a little slow for my liking.

Aug 26, 2009 · I have seen Cabelas discounting the Sage Xi2 by $200 and some internet sites discounting them by 25%. I was under the impression that they are very good rods. The only thing I can think is that they are phasing them out and its time to purchase that $700 rod for $500.

Nov 11, 2012 · I use a "skandit" line in rage 450, but just reached out to Simon Gawesworth today and he likes a steelhead scandi short in 435. As for reel, I lined mine with a Hatch 7+, but we had another rod with a hardy bougle and another with an abel switch.

Oct 26, 2012 · Reports were fishing for steelhead was slow! Sue did a mixture of trout and steelhead fishing. She landed a good number of trout on pheasant tails and hares ear nymphs. I opted to continue my quest for steelhead. I swung my Sage VT2 7130 with a 510 Skagit Head and a T-17 sink tip.
