Aug 02, 2015 · I then reported this to Telstra who said they'd received a number of complaints about this telemarketing scam. They then provided a number to register my phone number which would prevent any further telemarketing calls. This will only prevent calls from genuine Australian businesses.

I'm not sure why this is a matter for the TIO to be frank, as its a commercial decision made by Telstra as to how it manages Credit Management. The TIO only manages Complaints about Telstra Products and Service, not about How Telstra does things (unless its against their stated policies).
