Jul 09, 2013 · Versed is a strong sedative, while propofol is an anesthesia. With versed you will be dopey for quite awhile after the colonoscopy. Propofol leaves your system quickly, so you won't feel drunk unless you are given a sedative along with the propofol. Ask your doc if you can talk to the anesthesia folks to find out what they prefer to use.

From what I understand, you are awake, but have no memory loss later of it in Versed Sedation, and you are asleep durin Anesthesia, but can anyone give me any more information?

Feb 22, 2013 · Not having a colonoscopy is not guaranteed safe either. But problems with Versed in colonoscopy are very, very uncommon. Twilight sedation has far fewer side effects and problems than deep anesthesia used for other more invasive surgery, so for that reason, it is always the choice for a brief outpatient surgical procedure like colonoscopy.

Dec 15, 2005 · Versed (Midazolam) is a sedative that causes amnesia. It is commonly administered in combination with anesthesia before and during surgery. It is also commonly used for minor procedures like colonoscopies so that patients won't remember pain and discomfort. However, that does not mean that those sensations will not be experienced.

I supervise close to 7,000 independent ambulatory anesthetics and perform 900 peripheral nerve blocks per year in our center and have found that low or no versed reduces that complaint significantly.

Jan 03, 2008 · If Versed was used with out your knowledge I would complain to quality improvement group, Board of Healing Arts, or state agency regulating hospitals and make your complain to them. You can complain to the Patient Relations or Consumer Service department of the hospital. I put my complaint in already. I feel doctors can do what ever they please.
