I used Waterlox because of the reviews and it is bio-safe. I followed the directions, which were hard because you have to wait 24-hours between each coat and then seven days after the last coat to put anything on the surface. This product is amazing. It made …3.3/5

Sep 18, 2008 · I searched the forums but did not see anything that addressed this problem. I put three coats of Waterlox Finish/sealer on several jewelry boxes and the lids. First coat looked good but noticed as applied the 2nd and third coat with foam brush, the Waterlox behaved like a mix of "oil and water" when it was applied to the wood. It did not level out but left irregular areas where it looked like ...

It’s just that the Waterlox people haven’t done a very good job of reformulating their product to account for the different solvent. (They’ve been selling the low-VOC product in California for at least a couple of years, and I’ve heard similar complaints from other people during that time.)Author: Matthew Teague

>Tom, I like to use a Danish Oil and when you and others talk about Watco I'm assuming it's Danish Oil. I've used the Watco product but I now prefer the Danish Oil from Deft as it seems to build faster and last longer in the can. I've not used Waterlox because of the complaints of is gelling in the can and I'm too lazy to decant it, use marbles ...

Jul 20, 2004 · Waterlox is very happy on top of dewaxed shellac, which is what Sealcoat is. I've used a good few oil polys. No major complaints. You end up with a coating about 3 or 5 times as thick as waterlox. Waterlox is one of the few that recoats easily. No prep, just wipe on some more.

Feb 03, 2020 · I called Crystalac and the representative said he has never heard any specific complaints about using Waterlox on top of it; however, he was concerned with any topcoat that is solvent-based, as he was worried the solvents would break down the Crystalac grain filler (since it is water-based).

Better saw than most. 03-22-2018 09:10 PM by TheStairMaster 19 comments ». I worked with various table saw brands thru out the years, the one brand I always liked was the Powermatic, I owned a few starting with the 66 model and always enjoyed this brand, but, lately, due to safety concerns having children around the shop, I decided it is time to look into the Saw Stop brand and, of course ...

Apr 04, 2013 · If it comes up we steer the customer to Waterlox. That stuff is great ! I've seen some floors done with Rubio and they get real dark in the traffic areas because the grain remains open and just absorbs the dirt, and when you mop it, the grain just kinda takes on the mud that your creating while mopping and the floor becomes dark and nasty after ...

Sep 06, 2005 · The first pic is a satin water-based on common white oak. the second is Waterlox sealer (2 coats), with 2 coats of satin oil-based poly on common oak. I guess it explains it in the comments. You can re-coat Waterlox with oil-based with the same timing as oil-based poly or Waterlox recoating . . . when it's dry (usually 12 + or - hours)
