In Windows 8 open the PC Settings app, go to Users and then click "switch to a local account" or in Windows 8.1 at PC Setting go to Accounts > Your Account and click "Disconnect".

It seems that a lot of the hate for Windows 8 is based around the Start Screen. Luckily, you can download programs that give you the Start Menu back. Also you can boot to the desktop and entirely bypass the Start Screen, so those issues can easily be taken care of.4/5
