Unfortunately it sounds as if the bankruptcy trustee was just doing his job to obtain non-exempt assets to pay to your creditors. There are procedures in bankruptcy court that a trustee must follow in order to seize and sell assets (i.e. notice and a hearing is required to auction off a house) - if those procedures weren't followed then your attorney should follow-up with the proper filings.
