Feb 27, 2019 · After your initial monies are paid, it doesn't cost the publisher any additional money to keep the book available for sale, so it would be really bad business to take a book down, regardless of whether it is selling well or not. Jul 06, 2017 · Their book came in 10 days later than the other, and the quality was not good at all. The paper was too thin, the color was flat and without any depth. It was a real disappointment. Needless to say, even though the other publisher was more expensive, we bought our book through them. We are about to order our second batch.

For my next book, I will be wary, doing exactly that, and having no reluctance to probe the publisher about his practices. Every author would be well-advised do the same in this minefield called book publishing.

May 21, 2014 · They didn't tell authors outright that they were their publisher (like a New York publisher would) but they also didn't dispute that they were the publisher. One of the things that used to frustrate me is that authors often assumed that engaging a company like an iUniverse to publish your book was the same as having a major house pick them up.
