Apr 25, 2006 · This is just my opinion. My roommate got a 700r4 from Bowtie Overdrives about 10 months ago, and the install went very well. However the transmission never shifted right, it leaked like crazy, and eventually destroyed itself. A transmission mechanic friend of ours rebuilt it for him and was amazed at the "hack job" (his words) that they performed.

Their TV cable system is outstanding and they do everything they can to make sure you set it up correctly. You can catch a free converter sale from time to time through their website.

Jun 28, 2016 · They always need a new stator shaft (the factory splines are always chewed up. Easy to spot when a new one is needed and pretty cheap fix). rumor is they need a new clutch drum too but I have never needed one. Probably applies w/ +400hp engines. Also mandatory is a BowTie Overdrives throttle adjustment for the specific carb being run.

I bought mine from Keisler Engineering, everything worked out as advertised, support was great. If your looking for an overdrive I would highly recomend the Tremec over other overdrives and the Tremec was not harder to install than the Gear Vendors unit which by the way did not install as advertised at all and support sucked. Mar 17, 2010 · Get it wrong and it won't matter how well the tranny is built your car will be a pig. As mentioned talk to the pro's. Art Carr is one along with GearStar, Bowtie Overdrives, J&W, ATI, and P.A.T.C.(my personal favorite). There are others. Even your local shop may be well versed in building almost bullet proof overdrives.
