Never. I rented a car that went straight to the mechanic and wasted days of vacation trucking it from place to place as instructed by the rental company. The rental company, Dollar, promised me a refund, which Hotwire refused to honor or even verify. Hotwire's customer service was horrible, script-driven, unwilling to listen or remediate anything.
