One thing to keep in mind though, CarMax used cars are generally a bit more expensive than what you might find private party, or even at a dealer (assuming non-CPO). They also do not haggle on the price. That all being said, if I wanted to get an infamously unreliable car (V10 M5 comes to mind), I'd most likely go the CarMax+MaxCare route.

Jan 28, 2020 · Anyone ever purchased a vehicle from Carmax? Keeping my eyes out for a truck and Carmax has a good selection. They seem to go over the vehicles and bring them up to Carmax standards, what ever that means. Dealers tack on lots of fees, as I’m sure Carmax does, and I just have an inherent distrust of car salesmen.
