Sep 15, 2019 · The Landmark shingles have always been fiberglass and so they aren't part of the Certainteed class-action that happened a while back. I can't seem to find anything online suggesting the Landmark was a bad product but I'm still looking. If they are sticky I can suffer about 30% loss without impacting the project as long as I buy all he has.

The newer CertainTeed Landmark shingles are of poor quality. We had a new roof installed two years ago and already have most of the shingles flying in light wind because the adhesive strips are defective which doesn't allow the shingles to adhere to each other. This company has horrible customer service. I have a four year old Certainteed Landmark shingle roof and I discovered back in May that I have a lot of shingles that are not sealed.

Please stay away from Certainteed shingles. They are crap and their warranty is even worse. We had Landmark 30 year shingles and they only lasted 12 years, actually even less. 12 years is when we really noticed severe granular loss. Certainteed only offered $923. It is a shame they or anyone like this is allowed to do this to people.
