Mar 31, 2017 · I am getting mixed reviews online between American Standard's Americast tubs.....they are called Americrap!! Can anyone shed some light on which tub is better quality? Is there an equivalent Americast for Kohler? Americast is made out of enameling grade steel with a porcelain surface. Sound like it is prone to chips.

Feb 14, 2006 · The Americast gelcoat seems to be more prone to chips and scratches than the hard high temperature ceramic coating on cast iron tubs. American Standard is the epitome of the American company being run by charlatans. They lie about the quality of Americast and when you try to get customer service to stand by the warranty, you get nothing but bull hockey.
