Jul 08, 2016 · I'm a bit concerned that there are all these manufacturers, but none of them seem to have any stock of these things. DCT engine bars seem to be Vapour especially. I emailed Touratech in Germany after going to the shop in Quebec, thinking "yep, that's a no-brainer goto company that should have stock"... the reply 10-12 weeks!

In the end I went for Hepco & Becker ordered from Motobins.co.uk (UK agents for H&B) I am really please with the bars, they look good and where easy to fit apart from getting one bolt back in.

Jun 29, 2016 · When did you have these parts installed? We've just started receiving these Africa Twin parts and are selling them by the hoards and have not yet received any complaints state side. As far as I know, all the engine and tank guards we've received have not had a problem with mounting, and have had all necessary hardware included.

Sep 22, 2019 · The crash bars will take the scuffing but they will bend and there is no room for very much of that. To my mind, there is too much risk of cracking the bar mounts at the engine or putting point loads on the cylinder fins (broken fins) or bashing the rocker covers off their studs. The off road schools don't use crash bars which says a lot.

The Touratech set are quite large and obtrusive to look at, though no doubt perfrom as designed for in the event of a drop. The other two sets are small but must be designed to protect the vulnerable areas???
