Feb 15, 2019 · That is bogus. You bought a stove with on/off capability and they took that away from you. Your stove is now too big for your needs. I would prefer the high/low function if the house heat demand was such that the stove had to run non-stop to keep it at the thermostat setpoint. Don't pellet stoves have the option? Hi/low, on/off, or constant?

Consumer Reports also gave extremely short shrift to pellet stoves as a low carbon, renewable energy appliance. It did not say how much carbon could or would be offset by limiting use of a fossil fuel furnace.
