I read all the complaints and fortunately Dr. Davidson at Anschutz advised me that it had to be taken out. They put a plain lens in and because of damage from the previous Crystalens they had to use a ZAG laser on my eye to reduce the fogging left over.

I still have problems with elevated pressure in my eye. The MD told me that my Crystalens had locked into the "up close" position and was not focusing properly. I did correspond back and forth with the makers of Crystalens and sought legal help. I was told that in order to prove that the lens was faulty, I would have to have the lens removed.

This issue is that someone with their natural lens still who is presbyopic for instance may be able to theoretically read a particular print size without glasses, but that the muscle effort to focus may be a strain to do for an extended period of time, and the Crystalens at least partly seems to require the same sort of accommodative effort.
