Nov 30, 2019 · 5. The Europcar staff indicated that we could not rent a vehicle unless we accepted an obligatory charge of $118 for Mexican liability insurance 6. Other customers were having similar problems with the staff. Very unfriendly service at Lisbon (downtown) Europcar. The lady in charge (seems to be the only person who can communicate in English) had no sense of customer service and seem to think that customers were beggar of some sort. Her attitude and manner was to an extent of being rude.

I did: 1) Pay Europcar in good faith more than 2 months prior to needing the car; 2) Speak to a customer service rep, in person, on the morning we were to pick up the car and said that we would not need the car until the next day, but did say I could take the keys and pick it up the next day.

Upon getting in touch with someone at Europcar, turns out they had changed my 2 day rental to a 1 day rental which is in that small a writing that an eagle would hardly see it and refused to give me back my money even though my original contract clearly stated a 2 day rental. Thank you for your suggestion. Alas, I have already been in contact with customer complaints. Was a long, slow, sloth like reply time by Europcar during several email exchanges, where my wife and I provided photographs and our thoughts on the matter. We tried, both feel our opinions weren’t heard, and were told that we were wrong.
